it..

When i open msn6 just above the sign in name, is my

sign me in automaticlly without having to type in my
password.
thing is...
i want to know how msn knows the name (or passport) to
display ontop of the sign in button.
is it a registry key?
a cookie?
temp file?
where is it :P

bearing in mind im asking about msn messenger 6 not
windows messenger 4 etc...

Greetings Terabyte,

This is actually stored in your XP account's credentials. To see this (and manage it), click
the Start Button, then click the Control Panel. Then, click User
Accounts in the Control Panel. Select your account name, and then on the left side of the
screen, under Related Tasks, click 'Manage my Network Passwords'. In the window that opens,
you can remove accounts by clicking the passport you wish to delete [denoted by (Passport)],
and then click the 'Remove' button. The Passport.Net\* (Passport) entry controls the saved
Passport (if you remove this, it will no longer sign you in automatically).
