Where is "Run as..." in Vista?

Before when I did right click on any program in start menu (I mean in XP) I
had a choice there "Run as..." and I could run it as other user. In VISTA
there is only "Run as Administrator", which is not enough for me. I do not
mean that I use it so often, but I did once a while... I miss to have option
Run as other user.

Is this "Run as..." going to be back in next version of VISTA?

I'm not sure if run as will be making an appearance later, I couldn't find
any information about it.

However, you can still use the runas command from the command prompt
(granted, it's alot more work, but it does work).

The simple syntax is:

runas /user:USERNAME "command"

example:

runas /user:Jimmy "control.exe"

Which would then prompt for my password, then if the password was correct,
run the command line.

There's some more advanced options available with this command as well.

I did not know about this option, so at least something. I do not mind
command lines (i am using it not so ofrten, so it is ok).

Hi,

I just tried this and in VISTA trying to run iexplore as other user, it
says: runas not supported by IE...

Any suggestion how to run IE as other user?

That's strange ...

I couldn't find any information as to why they are blocking it. I tried a
few things as a workaround but the dang thing is smart ... lol ... I will
see if I can find out.

Go to customize the start menu and you can change it there. You can find
this by right clicking on the toolbar and choosing properties. By default it
has been removed.

You can run commands from the textbox on the Start Menu itself.
