Where's messenger?

Posted: 07-05-2008, 12:23 PM
I have made a few attempts at installing and running the latest v8 MS
Live messenger. Downloaded the WLinstaller.exe which when run begins
the install process, offers a couple of windows with options, when
completed almost immediately any further activity ceases, hardly the
time expected to install such a large program. There are no error
messages.

No icons are to be seen and the only reference to Messenger live in
the Add/remove programs page is Win live installer which is only 2.26
meg in size but nothing else related to live messenger.

Likewise in the programs list only windows Live home is listed. Any
attempt to start Live messennger from there takes me right back to
starting the whole installation, getting an account saga once again.

I have removed the one related program I can on the ad remove page and
tried the installation again but just keep going around in circles.

After installation should I expect live messenger to appear on the
problem list and ad remove list with an icon to start it as does Yahoo
and most other progs.

I'm an oldie but have had Yahoo virtually install itself and used it
for some time.

What am I doing wrong with Live messenger.

Thanks for your time.

Greetings,

If you want a "quick fix", you can grab the Messenger installer on its own from here:

You're certainly not the only one with issues with the current installer.
