Which Windows Services do you really need?

Posted: 01-08-2009, 05:22 PM
Dear readers,

I am running XP home, SP 2 & 3. Through Start > Run > msconfig or through
Control Panel > system > services, it's very hard to figure out which Windows
services you really need & can be switched off, according your individual
customized/configured computer. It is my aim to keep my PC as basic (Windows
classic) & 'stripped down' as possible for I don't want all those bells &
whistles. Does somebody know a way, tool or information website for doing
this job? Does switching off a number of services really improve the PC (XP)
performance?

Thanks, Max.
