That was my Start to be chosen as TechBeta Tester for the Server 2003 R2
Program and various other to follow.
But you have to be very patient. It can take half a year until you will get
an invitation.

I think so, now I do all my downloads and infos via connect, but it all
started on beta.microsoft.com,
from there I could download the Server2003 builds and all that other stuff
until the build was RTM.
Connect is a bit modern, but I think its sometimes a bit weired to find
exactly what one is looking for.
Also this place is a bit mismanaged sometimes.

Just For Example I am in the Beta for MS GameStudios Zoo Tycoon 2 Expansion
Packs and they sended me via Airmail the Discs for the Addon , but not for
the Main Game.. When asked before, I said that i do not own it already.

So I borrowed me the Game just to can install my fresh Beta-CDs and to fill
out my surveys on connect.

Well, its still a work in progress and I did say in the future. So products
like Office 14 will be Connect only and its already started to happen.
Office Small Business Account 2007 is through Connect, version 2006 was Beta
Place. Windows Server 2003 R2 was Betaplace, Windows Longhorn Server is
Connect.

So, regardless Betaplace was a starting point, its the end, Connect is where
you sign up for new beta programs. I have not seen anything new appear or
require Betaplace since November of last year except for Office 2007.

Apparently they are still letting people in Vista's tech beta because I
received an invitation last month and it appears that Kevin P. was reinvited.

Simply email LHbeta@microsoft.com and explain why you need (as opposed to
'want') access to other builds not available to the CPP. Be sure to make it
look professional and run spell check before sending it. It takes a while for
them to reply.
