why can't I access the workgroup?

Network\Microsoft Windows Network" I have two options, one is my domain and
the other is "Workgroup". We have a Xerox Document Center that sits on the
network. It is under the Workgroup folder and shows up as Xdc. When I click
on the computer icon called Xdc it will not show me the attched printer. The
full path should be \\Xdc\dc440 but I can't get to dc440.
I had the printer setup and working till today when I went to use it, it
told me I didn't have permission or rights to use it.
Now I can't drill down to select the printer to install it.
It seem to me that somehow my rights to the "Workgroup" workgroup have
changed. I can't think of how my rights would have changed for this
resource.
I get an error message that says. "\\Xdc is not accessible. You might not
have permission to use the network resource. Contact the administrator of
this server to find out if you have access permissions.
The netwok path was not found."
I can't see anything in Active Directories called "Workgroup". At this point
I'm stuck.
I've restarted my PC a couple of time.
Any help would be appreciated
