why is the primary hard drive my E: drive not C: drive after winxp clean install

I can not figure it out, and it's beginning to aggravate
me. Some programs only allow you to install to C:\ and I
don't have a c:\ drive. ARGH!

Go to run,type:diskmgmt.msc
L.click the hd,action,all,select,change drive paths and
letters,select change letter to C:

I don not believe that it will allow you to change your OS Partition letter.
But not 100% sure.

Did you have a zip drive attached to the PC during the installation?
