Will my video Card work with Aero? PLease help

Posted: 06-09-2006, 04:43 PM
I have a ATI Mobility Radeon 9700 with 64 megs of ram. Is there any work
around that will allow me to use Aero in Vista? If not, will Vista just look
like windows XP or will it have a cool look to it? Thanks for you're help.

On the download page, there was a link to test your system for
compatibility. What were the results of that test?

Did you bother to read any part of the pages during the download process?

You do realize that the rest of your system has to be able to support
Vista...it's not just your video card.

The test is no guarantee... it passed my SIL 680 Raid/ATA133 driver and said
I didnt need to download any but yet Vista won't recongnize them.

The 64MB video RAM will support Aero at resolutions up to 1280 x 1024. If
you're trying to run Aero at higher resolutions (e.g., 1900 x 1200) and get
the transparent glass effect, Windows Flip, 3-D Flip, etc, you'll need 128MB
or more memory, for example. Another key factor is the graphic memory
bandwidth -- at least 1,800 MB/s. If your graphic board doesn't support this
bandwidth (and I believe yours does), then this is a problem for Aero.
