Will XP Pro support a USB device written for Windows 98 in compatibility
mode ?

I have a Nortel Phone that connects to my computer by USB port, and the
supporting
Caller ID Software for it that runs on Windows 95/98.
Nortel has no upgraded USB driver availiable for XP,
so XP can't install the USB driver (Works fine on Windows 98).

Is there a way in "Compatibility Mode" that the USB driver can be installed
and recognized ??

Thanks in advance..

Phil

No, it is not possible. Have you tried a win200 driver. Otherwise it may
just be a case of hardware not be supported for XP. Lots of causalities
like this. Hope you do get an answer, but do not get your hope to high.
