win media player 9 will not install

somehow i am getting screen telling me to install window
media player 9 series. running thru screen and clicking
finish at end gets me to start page over and over,media
player will not work now. any help please reply. again,i
did not ask for this. restoring to earlier time makes
every thing ok again,for awhile but then same thing
happens.
