.....even then there is no guarantee you will get it. I did some testing for
Microsoft and so on but when Vista's last Beta came out before public
release, I was told I had to buy a subscription to get the beta. I waited
about 4 weeks to get the full public release instead.

There was a newsgroup in private.microsoft.com for longhorn in beta.
There is probably one for Windows 7, but I don't seem to be able to find a
login for it. Does anyone here know anything about it?
I have Windows 7 installed and need a place to discuss it!

Access to Microsoft's private news groups is limited to those who are
registered, "official" beta testers, and other limited, controlled
groups. They're not open to the general public. If you're part of the
official beta program, you'll have been given the information needed to
access the private news groups.
