Windows Address Book

Posted: 07-07-2003, 06:02 AM
I had my system backed up by Roxio Retrieve and then
upgraded to XP. In the process, my address book was
erased. I have all the CD's from the backup. Is there
anyway to retrieve my address book from WN98 to put on XP?

Please help! I have no idea on how to unpack or find
these wab files...

I run MS Works Calendar program for reminding me of
upcoming appointments etc.

Recently I downloaded and installed 14 Microsoft Critical
Updates for XP and ever since, I get a message when I open
my Calendar program.

Basically Calendar checks its Birthday and Anniversary
dates against those in the Windows Address Book and
informs me that the dates do not match. When I tell
Calendar individually which date is the correct one it
ignores my choice and changes all Birthday/ Anniversary
dates in Windows Address Book to 'todays date'.

e.g.
Calendar birthday for Tom is 29 April
Address Book birthday for Tom is 1 January

Which is correct? (I choose the Calendar date)

It changes the date in Address Book to 3 November 2003.
This happens for every birthday listed in Address Book.

I only have on copy of Address Book on my PC and have to
manually go back through it changing the birth dates. I
have since taken a backup copy of it.

Anyone solved this problem - or am I the only person hit
by it?

If by writing "address book" you mean the one as described in the
Windows XP Professional Help and Support Center Full-text Search
Match by the title: "Using the Address Book"

Open the Address Book and search for the following topic titled:
"To export your Address Book contacts to other programs"
