Windows Customizations not saving

Posted: 12-14-2003, 11:15 PM
I just started using XP home about a week ago and I can't
get it to save my windows customizations. I have to
resize the columns and change my view for details (or
whatever) each time I open a window. I've tried the
help files and knowledge base but haven't found anything
to address this. I also reformatted my computer and
reinstalled XP Home for a 2nd time because of another
problem but it still doesn't work. Does anyone have a
clue why they don't save? Thanks in advance for any help
you can give me. It's getting really annoying.

Try installing USoft Powertoys (free) for XP and use this to set the
customisations

Hi Dazzle,

You may download and apply the following edit to save the view settings:

Increase folder view size limit to 8000 (line 2, left column)

I am having the EXACT same problem. I've posted a message
about it so we'll see if there is a solution.
