Windows Defender coexists peacefully with both Norton and Kaspersky. Using
multiple anti-spywares simultaneously is a good idea, since no single one
has a sufficient detection rate. If you have enough system resources, I
recommend you reenable it.

If for unknown reason Windows Defender is disabled, ( possible NIS ) you
better reach support for that then - if you're in the US/CANADA contact this
886 727 2338 ( Microsoft PCSafety Group - Free Support )

NIS is causing problems, so I intend to do the following:

1.Use the Norton Removal Tool to kill Live update and NIS.
2. In the registry, get rid of all visible references to Symantec and
Norton.
3. Enable Windows Defender.
4. Install KIS.

But first, I have to read the KIS manual, etc.

If you already have virus/spam/spyware protection (Norton, McAfee, Kaspersky,
etc.), you don't need Windows Offender and I find it disruptive. Go to
Control Panel | Windows Defender to turn it off, but note that Windows Update
may turn it back on again.
