windows defender and always allow

Posted: 05-04-2007, 06:48 AM
Hi,

On my vista installation, i installed apache 2.2.4.
Everytime i log, windows defender blocks apachemonitor application to
run at startup.

I've got info that i should have in action menu the "Always allow"
possibility but i do not have any action menu with such feature.

So what can i do to make this application not blocked at the startup of
vista ?

thanks a lot,

Al.

If the program is requesting admin privileges it will be blocked until you
give permission. It is requesting admin privileges either because it is
doing something that needs admin privileges are you have set it to Run as
Administrator. You cannot give permission for it for all future runs. See
this link for info:

some startup programs"

Here is one work around.

I already set it up for running as administrator... but it still asks me
to allow or cancel it when i log under a non administrator profile

Yes. That's what Rock said.

Of course. Choosing Run as Administrator means it will ask for admin
privileges which will invoke what you see. Telling it to Run as Admistrator
doesn't the need for permission, it invokes it.
