I have a new installation of Win XP Pro
While in Windows explorer, a double left click on any
folder will result in the search dialog being launched. A
right click will list search first on the list followed by
explore and then open.

I have not run into this previously, A double click always
opens the folder. I've checked all setup options I am
aware of.

Windows Explorer hangs when attempting to view My
Computer, using Windows XP. Takes several minutes before
directories are listed.

When I right click an object (file or shortcut) and even
so much as pass over the "send to" option, the computer
locks up. Any ideas?

I use zone alarm and I am all the time getting requests
from it to allow Windows Explorer (NOT internet explorer)
access to the internet. I also get ccClient requests
often too. Are these comon, do I need to allow these?
what is causeing thier being called?

ccclient is part of NAV. You must allow it to access the Internet. (This is
explained on the Symantec web site.)

If an action that you have initiated causes explorer to attempt to access
the Internet, you can allow the connection. If explorer tries to access the
Internet and you did not initiate the action, you should probably be
suspicious.
