Thank you. It worked and I even managed to find a DOS icon as well. Many
thanks.

1. Right-click on your Desktop and select: NEW > SHORTCUT
2. In the Create Shortcut window, type in: EXPLORER.EXE , and click
"Next"
3. In the next window, type in: Windows Explorer , and click "Finish"
4. A new Windows Explorer shortcut icon will appear on your Desktop.

Hi Jeanie,

"My Documents" is just a regular folder with special properties that allow
it to appear as part of the windows shell. The actual folder it represents
is located under your user profile at:

C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\My Documents

Windows Explorer is set to open to that folder from the start menu. This
behavior can be changed by modifying the path line in the properties of the
shortcut (right-click the start menu entry and choose properties). This
article describes how:

HOW TO: Customize the Windows Explorer Views in Windows XP [Q307856]
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=307856

Windows Explorer itself is simply a file managing tool, the actual
executable for which is in the C:\Windows folder (look for explorer.exe).
What you see in the start menu is nothing but a shortcut that points to it
(as are most start menu entries).

Hope this helps explain it.
