windows explorer crash with my video's

Posted: 07-11-2003, 05:07 PM
I record short video clips on my HP812 digital camera. I
download them to my HP Pavillion PC running XP Home
Edition. Windows Explorer list the video files but if I
try to run them from windows explorer it crashes. Also
happens when I switch to thumbnail view.

Can anyone give me a clue what to try next?

Realplayer One will actually run the video so no format
issues. (Windows Media Player won't run them on my PC)
WWindows explorer works fine on XP Professional
Also works fine on a Dell PC running XP Home Edition

I have
- upgraded the camera firmware
- installed every conceivable patch for XP home edition
- upgraded the NVIDIA graphics driver
- deinstalled Viewpoint media player in control panel
- deinstalled Windows components for media player in
control panel
