windows explorer my pictures

pictures" folder is a "metal briefcase". when i try to
open the folder, the computer freezed up and sends an
error report. can anyone tell me why and how to fix this

Just wondering...did you install Windows XP
*over* a previous operating system?
Maybe if you download and install TweakUI
it will repair your icons for you.

Once installed...open the Program and go to...
Repair / Rebuild Icons / Repair Now.

Have you done any repairing or upgrading?You May Lose Data or Program Settings After Reinstalling, Repairing, or Upgrading
Windows XP

Try this:
Click Start on the taskbar.
Right-click an empty space on the Start menu, and then click Properties.
On the Start Menu tab, click Start Menu.
Click Customize, and then click the Advanced tab.
Under each of the following Start Menu items, click Display as a link:
My Documents
My Music
My Pictures
Click OK, click Apply, and then click OK.

when i went to the advanced tab, i saw that my settingswere already like that. if you have any other
suggestions, i would greatly appreciate it.

there is no error message.. when i try to open thefolder the computer freezes up and i have to reboot.
