Windows hangs on Network Browsing

computers plus a Snap Server), any program will hang ("Not
Responding" in Network Control Panel) when the "File|Open
cammand is executed. If the network cable is disconnected
from the computer and the unit is restarted, everything
works fine (No network access of course). The Hardware
Device Manager says the NIC is fine but I have reloaded
the driver anyway and get the same results. I have also
noted that the number of "receive errors" is running very
high relative to the other computers on the network.
If you wait long enough (1-2 minutes or more), the program
will sometimes start responding again and access to the
desired network folder/file will be allowed.
If navigation is required through the network, each
attempt at navigating to the next stop results in the same
thing happening (program stops responding and the computer
hangs).
I have tried changing to a different port on our network
server - no luck. The network switch also reports no
problems.
I've assumed this was a networking problem. Could there
be something else? Any suggestions for other networking
fixes I could try?
Thanks.
Tom
