windows or iMac?

Posted: 05-01-2004, 11:00 PM
A couple of years ago I made a movie with an iMac
--transitions, effects, voice over, titles, the works. I
loved working on the Mac, but, now I don't have access to
it anymore.

Is Movie Maker 2 going to be comparable? I'm finding that
I'm going to have to upgrade to that program. I'm using
Windows XP and my computer already has the first Movie
Maker version on it, but I've never used it. It really
doesn't do what I'm going to need it to do. Plus, I'm going
to have to install a video capture device and install a DVD
burning program.

Is Movie Maker 2 really going to be worth it or should I
just beg my former employer for the use of an iMac again?

Hi Katie,

If you're serious about the question, then posting at www.SimplyDV.com might
be a better place, as they are full of Mac users.

You should fine Movie Maker 2 and iMovie comparable.

Well Katie as a long time Mac user who sadly has to use a Windows
machine for video editing, I would say there is no comparison - if you
can get the Mac do so. Windows is such a PITA.

On the other hand, WMM2 is free - so it won't cost you anything to
upgrade, but of course it is no match for the sort of apps that you get
with the Mac. You get what you pay for I think.
