Windows Image Acquisition Service Error

Posted: 07-01-2006, 02:35 AM
I get the following error (pop-up) that does not go away (i.e. I click OK and
a new one appears.

Title bar: Windows Image Acquisition Service
Message: THere is no application registered for this event

In the event log I noticed I ahve 1000's of errors relating to the following
(long C&P doubt it will help but perhaps more afterward).
+ System
- Provider
[ Name] Microsoft-Windows-Eventlog
[ Guid] {fc65ddd8-d6ef-4962-83d5-6e5cfe9ce148}
EventID 100
Version 0
Level 2
Task 101
Opcode 0
Keywords 0x8000000000020000
- TimeCreated
[ SystemTime] 2006-06-30T13:30:08.724Z
EventRecordID 11786
Correlation
- Execution
[ ProcessID] 1044
[ ThreadID] 1196
Channel System
- UserData
- EventProcessingFailure
- Error
[ Code] 15007
EventID 200
PublisherID Microsoft-Windows-TaskScheduler

I went to the task scheduler and tracked down the task:
frsMonitor, but cant diable it and really cant figure out what the problem
is, so are there any ideas?

Hi,

Are you using WIA? It's used for capturing images from cameras and scanners.
If you're not using it, disable this service. I suspect you're on a domain,
as that is where frs monitor is normally used (and you'd probably need to be
the network admin to disable it).

Perfect. DOn't really know why this cropped up all of a sudden but this did
work

I just wish I had checked the Services earlier.

Thank you.
