Windows Installer 2.0

I cn't use office updates, this message keeps coming up.

" This Patch package could not be opened. Verify that
patch package exists and that you can access it, or
contact the aplication vendor to verify that this is a
valid Windows installer patch package"

The version on msi.dll is
2.0.2600.1106 and all the fixes to clear this up reffers
to earlier versions, any help would be aprecited
