Windows Installer

Posted: 08-15-2003, 11:59 PM
I have windows XP. When I go to get on the internet and
when I am viewing the internet my windows installer keeps
saying "preparing to install" it flashes orange on the
bottom and does not load. Also, I get an error message
says error 1309 Bundle/Money/IUE/msaacoll.way.

Last night I swept my system with content watch now it is
doing all of this. I can still send and receive e mail
and surf the net but these messages keep popping up.
Also, it will not let me logg off the system properly.

Frustrated e machine operator. CAN SOMEBODY HELP????

Ken

I installed a program and now i don't need it anymore, so
I ran Add/Remove programs and deleted it but it left a
bunch of files still on my computer. So I manually
deleted most of them but some can't be deleted saying
that they are right protected or somthing like that, but
now when i open the internet and try to type in an
address, or click the drop down menu of recently visited
sites, Windows Installer opens and tried to install this
program. And since some of the files are still there an
error pops and and says to remove the program before
installing it again. I can't find any more of the files
from the program to delete, or any that it will allow me
too. Just wondering how i can manually remove them all
or stop the installer from popping up.

>Have you tried at your desk top opening search and
tiping in the name of the program. You will get a lot of
left over strings to delete.

Hello Lee,

I do believe Windows Installer is part of Windows Xp. Meaning that it is
already installed on your computer.

Remember: To alwasy do a Windows update

Jose Francisco

Did you get this error message?

"The Windows Installer Service could not be accessed. You may be running in
Safe mode or Windows Installer may not be correctly installed. "

If you did then follow the instructions on this website and your
installation files should work again.

I am a fairly new PC user
On my new PC with Win XP home edition, for some reason
when I now try to install new software I get a message
Windows Installer Could Not BE Accessed.
I have installed a number of new software items with no
problems.
After reading all the troubleshooting info on the
Microsoft web I am confused.
It talks about Safe Mode and I cant get my PC to start in
safe mode as I dont appear to have the drop down options
window on start up.
Best regards Joh Watson
