Hi Neil & Stephen,

Uninstalling doesn't remove everything. You must also do a thorough
search on your hard drive for *Messenger* (in search field), and delete
anything it finds. The go to *Regedit* (type in Start Menu and press
Enter), and click on Edit and FIND. Type in *Messenger *and click FIND
NEXT. Delete all entries it finds for Messenger and keep clicking FIND
NEXT in EDIT menu until it says finished. Then reinstall and see if
that helps.

Hope it helps,
Shawn

Unfortunately that didn't work. I don't know if this is significant. However
when I look in tools - options - connections, it says I am not connected to
..Net Messenger Service. Is this significant, and if so how do I get round it?

Hi Steve

Sorry it didn't work. the Net Messenger Service is what you sign into
It just means that your not signed in. The way I described above wa
the only thing that worked. For me anyway. Other than reinstallin
everything, you might try creating another Administrator user accoun
and see if it will work in that account to see if it's the Messenge
install or something set on your current account

Hope this helps

Thx Shawn, unfortunately it didn't work. One thing I've noticed is, when I
click on tools, options, connection. It says I am not connected to .Net
messenger service. Is this significant, and if so how do I connect?

Hi Stephen,

Glad to hear it's working now. Remember you can transfer everything i
your old personal folders (User name) to the new account folders i
Windows Explorer as long as you are in an administrator's account.

Hi Ishpg,

From the Main Windows Live Messenger Window:
1. Right click on the Contact you want to delete.
2. Click Delete.
3. In the pop-up window, check "Also remove from my Windows Live
Hotmail contacts"
4. Click "Delete Contact" button.

It should remove it then.
