Windows Live Messenger - No contacts in vista?

Posted: 06-23-2006, 12:06 AM
Hi,

Installed Vista, so far so good. Just tried to install Windows Live
Messenger beta, which has gone on fine. I can't, however, sign in properly.
It will allow me to sign in, but informs me that I have no contacts and that
due to a connection issue, I can't make changes to my status.

Any ideas?

It is probably not a Vista issue. I had been running the beta version of
Windows Live Messenger and not I am running the final version. It runs
fine on my computer running Vista Beta 2.

I install the live messenger on my computer running Vista and it was working
ok, after I had to format my HD to solve another issue, I haven´t been able
to make messenger work on vista. It always said that I have no contacts and
it mentioned a "conection problem" without any further information. I´ve been
trying to check the firewall configuration, but it haven´t solved the problem

Your contact information is held on the web not on your machine. I have
MSN Live working on Vista without a problem. Make sure your internet
connection is good and that you have entered the right username and
password.

I'm running msn live since beta and been working fine, today appear a
message saying that your info perhaps couldnt be if you log from differente
machine, but as bernie said, all the info are in their servers, not your
machine. So sit tight and wait.
