WINDOWS LIVE ONE CARE FOR VISTA

I just read that 15 anti-virus programs where tested and ONE CARE failed.
Microsoft said they where working on it. I'm going to try and get a refund
and find one of the programs that passed. It was on ZD Net that I read it.

Microsoft just released a new version of OneCare
that will absolve your concerns.

For all it's worth, I'm using Norton Internet Security 2007. Appears to work
solidly under Vista.

Thanks Daniel do they have a trial version, or you have to purchase it first.

Please keep in mind that the failure was less than 1%. So, they were 99%
effective. That doesn't absolve OneCare from getting better, particularly with
the detection ad removal of various Trojans and other common adware/spyware, but
it sure doesn't add up to "failure" if OneCare is 99% effective at detection and
removal.

Hi again. Dunno if Norton Internet Security 2007 has a trial. Didn't find
one on their site. I downloaded the full version (easy as pie) after giving
them my plastic card # and off it went.

Norton seems very fast, very stable and ultimately easy to use so far. No
glitches in installing either. Make sure you remove OneCare for Vista first
though. Norton will remind you.

Norton does have a trial. It is under their download tab link on their site. Under that tab, you click on Trialware link or here is the full web address:

The VB100 tests can be quite demanding. Just about every AntiVirus program
that exists has failed to achieve the VB100 award at some point (note that
you don't 'fail' this award, you simply don't score 100% on the test).

Using the logic you're applying here then, you'd need to run no virus
scanner at all because none of them meet the standard of never ever failing
the VB100 tests, and that is clearly nonsensical.
