windows mail or outlook?

Our office uses the Microsoft exchange server. I get my email, calendar,
tasks etc. using OWA, via outlook in the office as well as my PDA/cell phone
(windows mobile 5). However, I just purchased a new laptop with windows Vista
& Windows mail. I cannot set-up my mail or calendar (Windows calendar). Help.
When setting the mail up I get the error:
using POP3:
Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes for
this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of
inactivity. Account: 'mail.miamivineyard.com', Server:
'mail.miamivineyard.com', Protocol: POP3, Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Socket
Error: 10053, Error Number: 0x800CCC0F

using IMAP:
Your IMAP command could not be sent to the server due to non-network errors.
ths could, for example, indicate a lack of memory on your system.
Configuration:
Account: mail.miamvineyard.com
server: mail.miamivineyard.com
User name:sdejean
Protocol: IMAP
Secure(SSL):0
Code 800cc0e

What does that mean (other than I can't get my email on this computer other
than through OWA)?

Should I get install and use outlook instead?

According to the DNS record for miamivineyard.com, the mail server
name should be simply miamivineyard.com rather than mail.miamivineyard.com.
However, I could not connect to either one of those.
You need to contact the host admin and ask them why the mail server is not responding.

If this is an Exchange Server, you should contact the administrator to see
if POP and IMAP services are enabled. While an Exchange Server supports
both of these services, it is at the discretion of the administrator to
enable them. I also note that a DNS lookup for miamivineyard.com's MX (Mail
eXchange) record points to mail.global.frontbridge.com

Your Vista system has a comprehensive Help system built into it.

Follow the money... ask your ISP for set up details..

Help with windows mail

I have set up everything to match correctly for my imap,gmail.com account and
it still isnt working. I followed your step by step guide located in one of
these threads to set up my account. Now the problem its giving me when trying
to download the folders is that it saids.

General authentiaction failed. none of the authe tications methods supported
by your imap server are supported on this computer

your imap could not be sent to the server,due to non network erroes. this
could for example indicate a lack of memeory on your system''configuration

account:imap.gmail.com
server:imap.gmail.com
user name stephflor@gmail.com
protocol:IMAP
Port:993
code: blah blah

I real need help if someone could email me at stephflor@gmail.com that would
help thanks
