"ClassFactory cannot supply the requested class" or Error 80040111 generally
occurs when you are trying to play an AVI without the correct codec
installed.

Free-Codecs.com : MPEG Layer-3 Codec : Download latest video and audio codecs

Please don't suggest to people that they download pirated codec's that will
break WMP. Suggesting they download a pirated MP3 decoder will in no way
enable them to play back an AVI encoded with a third party video codec.

Everytime I try to open an attachment that has anything to do with Media
Player, it will not open.

I have Windows XP Professional

1.Check the newsgroups archives for prior discussion or solution of your
problems e.g.
http://groups.google.com/groups?grou...c.windowsmedia
Error message codes may be found searching there or via a general web
search. Most problems have been addressed here before: don't expect a
custom answer.

2. For Windowsmedia newsgroup posting guidelines see
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/win.../faq.aspx#1_19 .
Please supply ANSWERS to the questions there, don't just repeat the
questions.

3. Please deliver feedback to the newsgroup, so that others can be
helped. No one gets paid to help here, and the response rate from the
helped is less than 1%. If that was how medical advancements were made
you'd all have died years ago.
