Windows media player troubleshoot

I recently changed my connectionn speed from a 56k modem
to a T3 line (100 mb per second). I would like Windows
media player to automatically search for the names titles
and tracks. When I had the 56K modem it worked, now with
the faster connection speed, windows media player doesn't
recogize the LAN connection. I have manually changed the
connection in the player itself and still does not update
the songs. It gives the message, "You must be connected
to the internet before you can perform this operation."
