Windows Mobile Device Center and Vista RC1

An update from the Mobile and Embedded Devices Team: The Windows Mobile Device Center (WMDC)
Application is an independent application apart from Windows Vista. Windows Vista RC1 includes
the WMDC driver which enables you to sync music, acquire pictures and browse the contents of
your device. The full WMDC application enables you to synchronize email, contacts, calendar
appointments and more. The RC version of WMDC for Vista RC1 will ship very soon, while at this
time WMDC is only available for Vista Beta 2.

I'm wondering why they decided to make it an independent application as has
always been announced a new feature included in Vista.

I hope it comes out soon as I'm wishing to sync my PocketPC with Vista and
the new WMDC.

Regards,
Angel.

I don't understand what the hold up is. I have read many blogs and
newsletters of how many people already have this version running on their
computers and are able to sync the Pock PCs with Outlook already, because of
the fact that they were able to download and install this "New Version" of
WMDC. Those of us who really care to give Vista RC1 a chance and to be able
to sync in order to continue with our daily work, are unable to really test
out the OS completely.
Is there an ETA on this WMDC version for RC 1?

Thanks for your help.

There is a supposed way to get RC1 to download the update
already.

Just be patient, it's coming- soon.

That's great for synchronizing stuff our kids might use--pictures and
movies--but how about the applications your real purchasers really need in
order to make the money to buy your software, i.e., our outlook calendars,
contacts, e-mail, etc.? By delaying the synch update you are alienating
your early adopters. These are the very folks who would otherwise be giving
glowing recomendations to others about Vista, i.e., your best word of mouth
advertisers. Not a smart marketing move from world's best marketing company
(and occaisionally software company), Microsoft. Get a move on, Uncle Bill !

might have to buy in addition to Vista.
