Windows Movie Maker importing movies upside down and backwards!!

Posted: 02-25-2006, 10:29 PM
Whenever I import an mpeg file to edit, WMM inverts the video so that it's
upside down and backwards. The source mpeg file plays fine in media player;
the problem seems to be in the import. Since this problem occured, I've had
to use the flip-vertically effect to correct the picture. Not a big deal, but
it takes quite a while longer when saving/converting the final movie file.

Suggestions please? If I'm missing a codec, does anyone know which one?

Thx.

it's best to convert MPEG-2 files to AVI before using in Movie Maker.....
see the Import Movie Source Files > Video > MPEG-2 page of my website.
