Windows Movie Maker Problems

WMM crashes and reverts back to my desktop everytime I
try to add special effects or text to my videos...
Everything else seems to work fine except for those 2
features. Can someone please help shed some light on this.

Windows Movie Maker Problems

I have a AVI file which plays completely normally on my computer. When I
import it into Windows Movie Maker it playes normally. However as soon as I
drag it onto the timeline no picture is displayed and when I export the
movie, there is still no picture.

I'm sure it is not a problem with my computer as WMV files work normally in
Movie Maker. Anybody know what might be causing this?

Seems you're missing a codec. Let's see with which codec the AVI file was
originally compressed. Download and install G-Spot Codec Identifier.

http://www.headbands.com/gspot/

Analyze the file (render it) and look at the codec boxes... If it's
compressed with DIVX, you'll need the DIVX codecs from www.divx.com If it's
with XVid, you'll need the XVID codecs from www.xvidmovies.org.

If it's something else, post back.
