Is it an MP3?If so try converting it to WMA and using that instead to see if that solves
the problem.

I had this problem also, I went down to the toolbar right clicked on thespeaker icon clicked on "open volume control" and one of the columns was
turned on "mute", then clicked it on. This worked for me.
