Windows picture and fax viewer

I just had my system serviced locally to basically
restore it, and get it "cleaned up". Everything is now
running very quickly and smoothly, except now any
pictures that I attempt to safe to my files under
Documents / My pictures, don't "show". I get a NO
PREVIEW AVAILABLE. The problem is for all three users on
this computer. MOst of the pictures are a jpeg, which
did work previosly.

Is there some "switch" I have to find and turn on, or
what?

Try typing this, at the START|RUN command line...
regsvr32 /shimgvw.dll

Then press <enter>

Hi,

Right click on the jpeg file, select open, in the drop
down programs list, select windows image viewer and check
the box "always open this type of file with this program".

Windows Picture and Fax Viewer

For the past month or so, my picture and fax viewer will
not work. I try to open up a picture and it just beeps.
The same thing happens when I try to view several
pictures in a slide show. I recently installed quick time
on my computer, which came with a digital camera i have.
I don't know if this has anything to do with it or not.
If anyone can help, I would really appreciate it.

Try this...
Open the Quicktime applet in control panel and choose FILE ASSOCIATIONS in
the box. UNcheck any that you do not want QT to handle.

The click START button|RUN, and type...
regsvr32 shimgvw.dll <enter>
