Default windows settings keep changing

my windows settings keep changing on there own its been
hapening to my MY Pictures file for some time I have a
large collection of pictures that I keep in a certain
costumized order and some times the computer decides to
change the order

And today my internet explorer turned of the status bar
with out me telling it to and the MY Comuter file changed
its viewing settings. Can I make it stop doing this?

(may be I shouldn't have named my computer hal)

I had this same problem. I solved it by selecting "Reset All Folders" in
Explorer, Tools, Folder Options, View. I then set individual folders the
way I wanted. The settings have not changed on their own since.

reseting doesn't work I keep changing the order to "date
created" and it keeps changing it back to "name".
