WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\CONFIG\SYSTEM files missing or corrupt.

This is the 3rd time this has happened in the last year.
I cannot get my computer to boot, just this message.
WindowsXP home with service pack 1 installed. I tried to
use the recovery tool with no luck. I tried to use an
older copy of the resgistry with no luck. It will try to
boot to safe mode but just fills the screen with all
these files and never finishes. It will boot to the XP
home (black) screen and goes like it wants to start, but
stays on a blank screen. Help! Thanks in advance, Lyle

>Now when I try to get to the recovery consol, it asks
for the administrator password, which I never used. I
know I read somewhere if you didn't use a password to
just press "enter" whick I have done in the last hour,
now it says you have tried to enter the wrong password 3
times, and shuts down. Is my computer posessed? Lyle

I'm sure folks would be happy to help, but your problem does not seem to be
directly related to Windows XP Embedded, it seems to be more of a general
troubleshooting issue with Windows XP Home. You might want to consider
posting in one of the MS windows XP home newsgroups.
