Windows Update - error 8024402C

I'm trying to update Windows XP Pro. I get an error 8024402C coming up.
I've tried all of Microsoft's suggestions but to no avail. I am not going
through a Proxy server. I've tried restoring IE settings, but nothing works.
Please advise.
