Windows update suggested modem driver

Posted: 10-29-2003, 12:56 AM
Ran Windows update and it suggested a new modem driver.
Installed it, but my system does not have modem. It now
gives me an error every time I boot windows.

Tried to roll back the driver and it told me that I
cannot. Tried to uninstall the driver and it crashed my
system.

Start up error is

c:\windows\system32\carpserv.exe
The NTVDM CPU has encountered and illegal error.

Help.
