Hi Sami

I'm afraid that there is no way to backup the update files already downloaded. If you want R&R XP you will either have to use Windows Update after the re-install or manually download the updates before your re-format - you can then burn them to a CD for future use. Either way, with a dial-up connection, it will be time consuming.

Windows Updates Files

Hello.

I have passed through a good number of "Windows Update"s, so the Win XP Pro
running in my machine is more up-to-date than the one in the (original) Win
XP Pro CD.

I want to format and restart the PC from scratch... where can I look for the
Files downloaded in Windows Update and backup them? I don't want to download
them again (expensive Dial Up connection...), if possible.

Sami;
The files are not in usable form on the computer so you will have to
download them again.
You can download them from the Windows Update Catalog and burn them to
CD for future use:
