| Hi, Although my Windows Updates is configured to run automatically, occasionally I like to run Windows Update manually. However, when I run Windows Update manually lately, I noticed that it runs indefinitely while searching for critical updates for my XP machine. The only way I have of stopping it is by pressing ctrl+alt+del simultaneously and then ending the windows update task. This use never happen before. Incidently, I did install Microsoft Update application about 3 weeks ago and ever since then I can't successfully run windows update manually. When I choose All Programs from my start menu, I noticed that there is now a new program appearing on the menu call Microsoft Update with a blue down arrow. This programs actually points to the C:\WINDOWS\system32\muweb.dll,LaunchMUSite location. This new muweb.dll file was created on May 7 last and I'm really tempted to delete it because I feel it has interferred with my normal Windows Update manual process. Like I mentioned before, my XP PC is configured to run windows update automatically but I can't seem to run windows update manually anymore which is very annoying. Incidently, if I upgraded to XP SP3 would it resolve this problem? More info about this Microsoft Update file is found @ http://dll-repair-tools.com/dll/inte...-with-muwebdll. It was never my intention to install this Microsoft Update file but I only did it in response to some Outlook problem I had at the time. Is there anyway I can configure my PC to run the native Windows Update program instead of this new Microsoft Update when I run Windows update each time. I would appreciate any suggestions to this very annoying problem. | Guest
