| Hard to tell - but most likely it's a bad image on the disk that you're using to install it. Clean the disc off (very carefully) and try again. If not, try another one (or another download) Did you check the checksum on the file that made up the iso when you downloaded it? - John "GypsyGamer" wrote: Quote:

| You may have burned the dvd at too high a speed. MS advises using the slowest possible speed. You should be using a function like "burn image to disc." Next post, please give some details about your system and how you are trying to install Vista. As it was a clean install I put a base copy of XP in first then all the hardware drivers for XP, then did an upgrade install of Vista over it. Worked fine. My problem I think was using a ex HP Box Western Digital SATA drive which I have had problems with before, it just happened to be spare so I used it for Vista. Try that approach, might work. Also burn another DVD at 2 x speed and do not touch the PC while its burning a DVD. Jonah Quote:

| I believe that is one of the file copy errors. That still indicates a burn issue. Can you burn on the same drive that you will use to install from? "GypsyGamer" <GypsyGamer@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:FFEFF987-496C-4D74-B0D8-2DE686451FDF@microsoft.com... Quote:
