Default windows or windows.000?

i had to reinstall xp corporate on office pc
now, whenever i am not using the pc for say 15-30 minutes,
the computer restarts
using MSCONFIG,i found the following in the startup:

dumprep 0-k

also, in the C directory there are 2 windows directories:

c:\windows, and

c:\windows.000

can i delete the c:\windows.000?

do i have to reinstall the windows program again?

any ideas or help is much appreciated.

Are you one of the IT support people at your company ?
If not I suggest you contact them for support on this matter.
The reason this is my first suggestion is that you are referring to "xp
corporate" by which I assume you mean Windows XP under an Enterprise
Agreement, Select or some other Volume Licensed contract with Microsoft.

Briefly - the shutdown is caused by you not being correctly patched for one
of the many virus or worms out there, again this is an issue that your IT
support people should address with haste, especially if your PC is not the
only one not patched in your business. More details about this and many
other security issues are covered at http://www.microsoft.com/security
The Windows and Windows.000 are the result of multiple installations of
Windows being performed on this PC.
