Windows XP cannot find the slave HD

I installed a slave hard drive (180G). It worked fine for
a while. Then one day when I turned off my computer and
turned it on again, I cannot find the slave. It also does
not appear under Disk Management. I can see it under
Device Manager and it says its working fine. But I just
cannot see it or do anything with it. Can anyone help. I
have Windows XP - Home Edition.
