windows XP and no printers being displayed

I have Windows XP Home Edition. Everything was working
fine, installed HJP Office K60 xi and
printer/fax/scanning was all working. Then one day I
went into my printer folder and my printer no longer was
being displayed. If I hit the add printer wizard,
nothing happens. I can still print to the printer, but
nothing is showing up in my printer folder and I can't
scan now without being able to see the printer
properties. Help! Before I restore my operating system,
I'm wondering if there is a way of just fixing the
printer folder. I am up to date on all windows fixes for
XP.

Is the print spooler running?

From the command prompt, type

net start spooler

and hit enter. Are they now reappearing?

I was unable to see any printers and install printers
too, tho I got the not very helpful message that "Der
Prozess kann nicht abgeschlossen werden."
Manually starting the spooler fixed that!

Cari, I typed the command and the spooler service is
running. Any other suggestions?

One more, again from the command prompt, type

sfc /scannow

Any better?
