Windows XP Printing Problems

Posted: 07-06-2003, 07:43 PM
I recently upgraded to Windows XP Professional edition
and everything works fine; though when I try and print, I
have problems. In every program (Adobe Acrobat, IE,
Word, etc.) I get an error in that it only prints the
material in the very left upper portion of the paper.
I'd say it's about 2.5" by 3.5" or so. The rest of the
paper is wasted and I haven't been able to figure out how
to globally set my printing settings.

Anyone have any ideas as to why this is happening and
further, how I can fix it?

Thanks in advance...
-Matt

This is usually caused by corrupted drivers... and most often seen when
keeping the printer connected to the PC during the upgrade. Solution is to
completely uninstall and reinstall your printer as per:

Windows XP printing problems

I recently upgraded to Windows XP pro and have not been
able to print since that time. I have downloaded and
installed the drivers for my Lexmark Z31 but still no
success. Also deleted and added the printer many times
but this has not helped.
Whenever I try to print the CPU will max out at 100% (task
manager shows the System process using all the available
resources) - even on a 1K text document! I have also
reinstalled XP and all available patches but that didn't
help either. Any ideas?

Try a complete uninstall and reinstall once more using the instructions at:

http://www.coribright.com/Windows/Article%20One.htm

(Step 4 is the most important one!)
