Try Alt-PrtSc

A tip - as this is a technical group dedicated to Windows XP, please don't
post messages with a suject of "Windows XP"! It's like taking your Ford car
to a Ford dealer and saying "Ford" instead of"the brakes don't work" or
whatever. Try to put a precis of the problem in the subject line.

Neither PrintScrn (captures entire screen) nor Alt-PrintScrn
(captures the active window) captures the cursor. I can't
remember for sure, but to the best of my memory, it never did in
any version of Windows.

I ahave Windows Xp Pro (on a FAT32 formatted drive) and i
was wondering what i could do with it to make my computer
more secure with its own integrated features. I've heard
it had a built in firewall, how would i activate it.

Click on Start->Help and Support and type "firewall" into the search box.

From the Windows XP Help and Support Center (an excellent
resource which you should get into the habit of using--just press
F1 at the desktop):
1.. Open Network Connections
2.. Click the Dial-up, LAN or High-Speed Internet connection
that you want to protect, and then, under Network Tasks, click
Change settings of this connection.
3.. On the Advanced tab, under Internet Connection Firewall,
select one of the following:
a.. To enable Internet Connection Firewall (ICF), select the
Protect my computer and network by limiting or preventing access
to this computer from the Internet check box.

However, XP's firewall is not the best choice. It only monitors
incoming attempts at intrusion, and is not very configurable.
Instead I recommend the freeware ZoneAlarm.

Hi Ken

You said: Instead I recommend the freeware ZoneAlarm.
Would you please give more details as to where can I find
freeware ZoneAlarm.

Many thanks

Last month I installed Windows XP Professional onto my
notebook and then went on vacation with my book before I
could activate it over the net. Subsequently 30 days
later it will now not let me log in because I have not
activated it because I am without Internet connection. Is
there a way to un-install the program without reaching my
desktop - and will I lose any stored info if I do this?
Thankyou.
