Default Windows XP Pro Upgrade

Question: I have a computer that is currently running
Windows XP home edition and I need to get XP pro running
on it. Can I get an upgrade or do I have to purchase the
Windows XP professional disk?
Thanks!

Jenni;
You need to purchase Windows XP Pro, there is no downloadable upgrade.

Hello
You can upgrade!
But you have to buy the Windows Upgrade version (disk and all)

You need to purchase the Retail Upgrade version of Windows XP Pro,
which comes in a blue Microsoft box. Make sure it is the Upgrade
version and not the more expensive Full Install ("for computers
without Windows") version which also comes in a blue box.

Do not purchase an OEM version of Windows XP Pro. These usually come
in a shrink-wrapped package. They will not install as an upgrade.

Good luck
