Everytime I start my computer it shows there are 2
Windows XP programs. You can choose either, but I would
like not to see these at start up. Help.

Do you have 2 XP installations? If not then...

*open Control Panel--System--Advanced--Startup and
Recovery(Settings)
*under System Startup you can uncheck the 'Time to
display list of operating systems:'. This will set the
disply time to 0 seconds and you won't see the options at
all on startup. If you definitely do not have 2 operating
systems installed then this will work fine.
OR
If you have 2 or more operating systems then you could
edit the boot.ini with the 'Edit' option on that page.
Check to see if there are 2 IDENTICAL entries for
operatings systems. If they show the same operating
system (WindowsXP) in the same partition then one line
can be deleted. If you need to do this and are unsure
then copy/paste the boot.ini to create a backup file
before you change anything.

I partition my hard drive then install Windows98 in C:
then install WindowsXP in D:. I run XP as the default
operating system and set my operating system selection
timeout to 15 seconds. The following (not including the
dash lines) is my boot.ini.

-------------------------------------------------------
[Boot Loader]
timeout=15
Default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(2)\WINDOW S
[Operating Systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(2)\WINDOWS="Micro soft
Windows XP Professional" /fastdetect
C:\="Microsoft Windows 98"
