Windows xp registry

Posted: 04-15-2005, 07:07 AM
hi,
I am having a problem in editing my windows xp registry. Even if a
signin from a administrator (user1) account and type Command > regedit,
it says Registry editor is disabled by your administrator. I have
checked in Control panel > user account, the account is an
administrator account.

Secondly, the administrator account was by default and on the windows
logon screen I only see two accounts one administrator (user1) and the
other in my name but it doesnot show the administrator account. Even if
I logon by pressing ctrl+alt+del as "Administrator" (not user1) and do
Command > Regedit, then also I get message your administrator has
disabled the registry.

Can anybody help me with this???

Deepak

I don't know what is causing your problem
with the registry but maybe the following
article will offer some ideas:

(831787) "Prevent Access to Registry Editing
Tools" policy changes in Windows XP

Also...the following link is to a Google search
that may be useful:
